Edgar "Pappy" Galloway, 91, of Exeter Township, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the widower of Betty I. (Pond) Galloway who passed away June 4, 2000 . Born in Vernon, Pa , he was a son of the late Silas E. and Viola D. (Haring) Galloway. Edgar was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and worked for Hahn Contracting Company for many years until his retirement and last working at Hafer's Outdoor Power Equipment. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling, visiting his cabin in Tioga County, wildlife and traveling the United States. He is survived by one son, Larry R. Galloway of Reading and one daughter, Diane V., widow of Scott D. Hafer of Exeter Township; five grandchildren, Heather, Nina, Stephanie, Bryan and Jill; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Evelyn; one sister, Neva M., widow of Richard A. Pond, Jr. and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his siblings Mildred, Daisy, Charles, Emma, Edith, Emory, Winfred and Harry. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606.
