Our family lost our hero, Walter F Gasser, 87, of Spring Township, on Thursday, January 14th, 2021 in the Berkshire Center. He was the loving husband of Dolores Gasser, his wife of 27 years. Born in Mt. Penn, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Walter Gasser and Virgie Gasser (Swavely) He attended Boyertown Highschool, graduating in 1951. He was the owner of Glass Bakery and finished his career in baking at Maiers Bakery. Walter was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 62 Free & Accepted Masons, Reading, PA, The United States Army, and volunteered as a member at the Mt. Penn Fire Company as a fireman and later in life volunteered with his wife Dee at The Reading Hospital visiting patients to bring support with the Raggedy Ann and Andy program. But his most loyal service was to his family and friends. Always there, always fair, giving love and support with no judgment, no matter what.
