Robert L. Gehring

Robert L. Gehring, 92, of Laureldale, passed away on Wednesday, April 28 2021, in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Shurr) Gehring who passed away 2/17/18. Born in St. Lawrence, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George and Edna (Kline) Gehring. Bob graduated from Mt. Penn High School and was a member of Schwarzwald U.C.C. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob was a right of way agent for Met-Ed Corporation until his retirement.

Bob is survived by son R. Scott Gehring, Muhlenberg; two grandchildren: Jeffrey S. and Heather L., and one great-granddaughter Allyannah. He is also survived by one brother Charles Gehring, Maine. Bob was predeceased by his sister Betty Moyer and his brother George Gehring.

Visitation will be held on Monday May 3, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc.., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, Pa 19606. Interment will be at Schwarzwald Cemetery, Jacksonwald. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Schwarzwald UCC 75 Church Lane Rd. Reading Pa 19606.
