Shirley Gehring

Shirley M. Gehring, 90, of Laureldale, passed away with her husband by her side, Saturday, February 17, 2018, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of Robert L. Gehring. Born in Exeter Township, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Sarah (Boone) Shurr. Shirley was a graduate of Mount Penn High School, was a member of Schwarzwald U.C.C. and was an avid bowler. Shirley was a typist for Penn Title for many years and was lastly employed by Boscov's until her retirement. In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by one son, R. Scott Gehring of Muhlenberg; two grandchildren, Jeffrey S. and Heather L.; one great-granddaughter Allyannah; three brothers, C. Neil Shurr of Exeter Township, Larry L. husband of Pauline Shurr of Strasburg, Garry L. Shurr of Gap, PA and one sister, Gladys V. wife of Paul H. Knabb of St. Lawrence. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 10:00 am -11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading.
