Geraldine F. (Shaffer) Maurer

Geraldine F. (Shaffer) Maurer, 89, of Edinboro, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Edinboro Manor. She was the wife of the late George W. Maurer, who passed away in 2009. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Sarah M. (Labe) Shaffer. Gerry graduated from Mount Penn High School, in 1953. She worked as a daytime manager for many years at Berks Lanes. She enjoyed doing Crafts at West Lawn United Methodist Church with the crafters group and spending her summers at both Lincoln Park and Wyomissing Hills Swimming Pools. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and families in both Texas and Wyomissing. She loved following the Eagles.

Gerry is survived by her daughters, Sheri Rath, wife of Steven (Edinboro), and Cindi Ramirez, wife of Rene (Texas); her grandchildren Dannielle Baugh, wife of Matthew (Germany), Christopher, husband of Darlene (Texas), Steven, husband of Stephanie (Texas), Morgan, husband of Pinny (Beaver Falls), and Dawson, as well as 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Jacoby. Gerry was preceded in death by her sister Marvine Gerhart.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 pm with services beginning at 11:00 am at West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Avenue, Reading, PA 19609.
