Dorothy J. (Dot) Ginader, 90, formerly of Exeter Township, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in the Keystone Villa-Douglassville. She was born on October 28,1926 in Reading, PA to Ellen T. (Griener) and Curtis R. Tomlinson. She was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School and the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Her final six months of nurse's training was spent in Florida as a Cadet in the US Army at the end of WW II. She started her career as a nurse at the Reading Hospital in 1947. In 1948, Dot married Kenneth G. Ginader and they had four children. Dot continued her nursing career part time while raising her children, then returned full time as a supervisor at Reading Hospital until her retirement in 1991. She was a life time member of Pennside Presbyterian Church, where her father was one of the founding members and original Elders. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and son Curt. Dot is survived by her daughter Kay Haley (Bud) of Modesto, CA; her sons Kenneth Ginader (Donna) of Dayton, OH and Stephen Ginader (Julie) of Bloomington, MN; her daughter-in-law Krysty Ginader of Wappingers Falls, NY; and her sister Rose Tomlinson of Douglassville, PA, as well as her grandchildren. Dot will be remembered as a very special daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to say a special thank you to Season's Hospice for the wonderful care they provided the last several months of her life. A Memorial service will be held at Pennside Presbyterian Church, 253 N. 25th Street, Reading, PA 19606 on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pennside Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund at the above stated address or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 225 City Ave., Suite #104, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
