Stanley J Goerner

Stanley J. Goerner 84, formerly of West Reading, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Kindred Hospital Denver South, Denver, Colorado. He was the loving husband for 56 years of Fay (Delp) Goerner. Born in Reading PA, he was a son of the late Henry and Florence (Schaeffer) Goerner. Stanley was a graduate of Reading High School and a member of East Ends AA. Stanley was a big fan of the Chicago Bears and his Fantasy Football League. Stanley was employed by Met-Ed for 45 years until retirement. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons Michael D. wife of Leslie of Colorado and Brian R. wife of Nicole of Lancaster. He also is survived by five grandchildren, Riley, Tyler, Dillon, Alex and Josh and by two sisters Patricia DeTemple and Kathy Goerner both of Reading and one brother Thomas of Crestwood. He was predeceased by his one son, Steven M. who passed away December 21, 2012 and one brother, John Goerner. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606.
