Stephen E. Gombar

Stephen E. "Eddie" Gombar, 92, of Exeter Township, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia V. (Miller) Gombar, who passed away in 2001. Born in Saint Clair, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Anna (Cherba) Gombar. Eddie graduated from Reading High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Eddie proudly serviced his country in the United States Army. He was a mailman for many years until his retirement.

Eddie is survived by his children; Stephen E. Gombar Jr., husband of Rita, of FL, Helen, wife of Larry Boone, of Mt. Penn, Patricia A. Geise, fiancé of Ronald Brickey, of Exeter, John Gombar, husband of Gretchen, of Exeter, and Mary Geisler, wife of Gary, of Exeter. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his brother Joseph Gombar. Eddie was predeceased by his siblings; Elmer, Melhart, Eugene Gombar, and Anna Karahuta, as well as his grandson.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church 905 Chestnut Street Douglassville, PA 19518. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
