Dolores Gombeda

Dolores M. Gombeda, 88, formerly of Hill Road-- Reading and most recently of The Heritage at Green Hills, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 in Penn State Health- St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the widow of Edward L. Gombeda who passed away December 17, 2014. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Leo A. and Jennie (Morrone) O'Connell Dolores was a graduate of Kutztown University with a BA in Elementary Education as well as a Masters in Reading. She was a member of both St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. and St. Benedicts R.C.C. Dolores was a Reading Specialist for Mt. Penn School at the Elementary Level. She worked for both the Antietam and Reading School Districts until her retirement. She is survived by One Son; Joseph P. Gombeda, husband of Margaret Mary of Gouglersville, One Grandson; Christopher R. Stief, and One Nephew; Todd O'Connell of Riverside, CA. She was pre-deceased by her daughter: Katherine A. Gombeda on January 4, 2011 and her brother: James O'Connell husband of Jane (Sweitzer). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum-Chapel of the Resurrection, 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605.
