Martha E. (Behm) Goodwin, 87, of Berlin, Maryland, formerly of Stony Creek Mills, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 9, 1935 in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl M. and Hilda E. (Rapp) Behm. She was married in 1954, the wife of the late Richard F. Goodwin, who passed away February 7, 2014.
Martha graduated from Muhlenberg High School and was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. She worked as an office manager and was a Reiki practitioner and teacher. Martha had a passion for writing, authoring several books.
Martha is survived by two sons, Craig R. Goodwin, husband of Susan A., Mark J. Goodwin, husband of Dana; one daughter, Lori Beth, wife of Robert J. Schlegel; grandchildren Gabrielle, Danielle, Brittney, Mark Jr., Olivia; and one great grandchild, Jackson. Also surviving are two brothers, John and Philip. She is predeceased by three sisters, Grace, Ruth, and Sheila.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading PA. Interment will be at Spies Zion Cemetery, Alsace Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, Berks-Lehigh Chapter, PO Box 4383, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
