Bruce I. Guinther, 78, of Mertztown, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Kathy L. (Eller) Guinther, of Mertztown, with whom he celebrated 39 years of marriage with in July. Born in Mertztown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Fern (Moyer) Guinther. Bruce was a 52 year Member of PSOA (Patriotic Sons of America) Post 211, as well as, American Legion, Post #217 Topton, Strausstown Rod & Gun Club, Rockland Gun Club, and he was a founding member of Chapel Rock Hunting Camp, Clinton County, Pa. Bruce proudly served his country in The United States Army. He was self employed as a general contractor for many years until his retirement. Bruce loved people, especially his grandchildren, and was an honorary Brother, Dad and Poppop to so many others.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, Bruce is survived by his children; Bonnie J. Guinther, Bruce A. Guinther, Mark C. Guinther, husband of Angela, Julia A., wife of Ron Oswald, John I. Guinther, husband of Lindsey, and Rachel A., wife of Brad Fetherolf. He also is survived by ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother, Warren Guinther, and one sister, Darlene Miller. Bruce was predeceased by his brothers; Robert, Marlin, Larry, and Gary Guinther.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Mt.
