Eva Haines

Eva I. Haines, 82, of Reading, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018, in her home. She was the wife of Gail L. Haines, who passed away on October 4, 2009. Born in Reading, PA , she was the daughter of the late William E. Strassner and Dorothy M. (Hillman) Strassner. Eva graduated from Reading High School in 1954, was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Reading, and was a member of the RHS Basketball Squires Club. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Eva is survived by her children, Larry C. Haines husband of Mary L. of Lower Heidelberg Township, Cynthia J. wife of Henry F. Sharp, Jr. of South Heidelberg Twp., Sharon K. wife of Keith J. Eschleman of Reading; grandchildren, Erin M. Stacherski, Michael Intelisano husband of Jill, Seth A. and Sutton C. Sharp, Alex M. and McKenna L. Haines; one great granddaughter Lyla Stacherski; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brothers Carl B. Strassner husband of Roe and William G. Strassner husband of Geri. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to RHS Basketball Squires Club, 801 N. 13th St., Reading, PA 19604.
