Margaret Hart

Margaret A. "Peggy" Hart, 85, of Exeter, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Russel A. Hart with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage. This was a true love story that started as high school sweethearts in 1947 and ending with his constant and loving care of her.

Born in Mt. Penn she was the daughter of the late Samuel D. and Anna (McCartan) Nein. Peggy was pre deceased by her brother Samuel D. "Buddy" Nein.

Peggy was a member of Trinity U.C.C. Mount Penn and the Woman’s Club of Exeter Township. She was a 1951 graduate of Mt. Penn High School. She then attended Kutztown University and received a Bachelor’s in Education in 1955. Later, she earned her reading specialist Master’s degree. In her 39 years of teaching, Mrs. Hart, touched the lives of many children and their families with her caring spirit, endless energy, enthusiasm, and true love of being an educator. In her career, she began the Kindergarten program in the Exeter Township School district, directed the summer school program for over 20 years and taught at Alvernia University. She was inducted into the Exeter Township School District’s Academic Hall of Fame in 2007. Peggy was honored for the dedication and inspiration she brought to her classroom as an elementary and high school teacher.

Peggy is survived by her children Russel A. husband of Debra, Scott L. husband of Regina, and Kristine H. Schmidt wife of Jay all of Exeter and her eight grandchildren Travis, Emilee, Scott Samuel, Austin, Hunter, Cody, Karlee and Carson. Her favorite times were traveling with her family and watching her children and grandchildren participate in their sports and activities.
