John R. “Jack” Hassler, 85, formerly of St.Lawrence and most currently a guest at Berks Heim, passed away Wednesday, October 30th, 2013 in St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Cecelia L. (Richter) Hassler. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John R. and Laura L. (Ream) Hassler. Jack was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a member of St. John’s U.C.C.-Pricetown. Jack was a drummer for over 40 years, playing at many clubs in Berks County and with the group “Ad-Libs” for 10 of the years. He was also a member of the Pikeville Sportsmans Club, the East Ends A.A. and was a true Philadelphia sports fan. Jack was a painter and auto body repairman for many years. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by Three Daughters; Cindy Jo wife of Robert L. Heizmann of Mt. Penn, Kathy L. wife of Kim Seidel of Oley and Penny L. Hassler of Read ing. There are also five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mt. Penn on Monday,November 4th, 2013 at 11:00 am. Friends may call from10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In Lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s U.C.C.
