Joseph T. Hendrickson, 87, formerly of Mt. Penn and most currently of Wyomissing passed away Thursday,March 13th, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of Roberta R. (Heck) Hendrickson. His first wife, Natalie (Alspach) Hendrickson passed away in 1957. Born in Shamokin, he was a son of the late Ralph E. and Joyce O. (Yocum) Hendrickson. Joseph was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School in 1944 and a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Immanuel U.C.C.–Shillington. Joseph was the past president of the Antietam Valley Lions Club and the past treasurer of the Antietam Valley Recreation Community Center for 20 years. He was also a Judge of Elections and was a former School Board member for the Antietam School District. Joseph was a sales representative for the trade magazine Public Works out of Ridgwood, NJ for 10 years. He wa s then a salesman for Bayliss Oldsmobile for 10 years, retiring in 1988. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by: One Daughter: Sue A. Hendrickson partner of Lynne Titus of Kutztown; Two Grandchildren: Andrea and Joe Barry. He was pre-deceased by a daughter: Sally Jo (Hendrickson) Barry in 1989 and was also pre-deceased by his sister: Jean E. (Hendrickson) Yoder. Services will be held on Tuesday, March 18 at 11:00 A.M.in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Penn. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
