Peter W. Houck

Peter W. Houck, 74, of Amity Township, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in his Residence with his loving wife. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Redcay) Houck. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Kenneth Sr. and Ellen (Koch) Houck. Peter was a former Consistory Member at Pleasantville UCC, current member at Community UCC of St. Lawrence and was very active with the Masons and Shriners in Willow Grove. He was the owner of P.W. Houck Inc. in Hilltown, a franchise owner with Montgomery Ward and then worked for UPS until his retirement in 2006. In addition to his wife Nancy, Peter is also survived by his children: Peter W. Jr. husband of Suaad of Houston, TX, Matthew T. husband of Jacqueline T. of Chadds Ford, Shannan E. wife of Christopher Bieler of East Greenville; and nine grandchildren. Other survivors include three brothers: Thomas P. husband of Debra of Wyomissing, Richard P. husband of Eleanor of Stonersville and Kenneth Jr., husband of Linda of St. Lawrence; and one sister Louisa E. wife of David Dunn of Strasburg. He was also predeceased by his brother Michael R. and his sister Carol A. Stunz. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm with services beginning at 6:00 pm in the Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. Interment is private.
