Judith Margaret Clifford

Judith Margaret Clifford, formerly of New York City, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023 at the Reading Hospital. Judy, born to Curtis Dunbar Clifford and Mae Leary Clifford, grew up with them and her younger brother in Lyme, Connecticut. After graduating from Northfield School for girls in 1957, Judy studied Slavic languages earning her bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College in Holyoke, Massachusetts and a master's degree from Yale University in 1963. After teaching Russian language classes for a year at Milford (CT) High School, Judy moved to New York City in 1964 where she joined the New York University administrative staff. Judy loved living in the West Village of Lower Manhattan and after a long NYU career, she retired in 2007. In the fall of 2020, she moved to Berks County, Pennsylvania where she was privileged to enjoy many friendly acquaintances in her new residence until her passing.

In addition to her brother, Curits D. Clifford Jr., of Douglassville, PA, she is survived by her niece Jennifer Simpson of Alexandria, VA and her nephew, Jeffrey Clifford of Studio City, CA.
