Kathleen S. Zagar

Kathleen S. Zagar, 76, of Exeter Township, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Richard Zagar. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Stankiewicz and Mary M. (Duggan) Christ. Kathleen graduated from Central Catholic High School. She went on to further her education, attending Immaculata College and Alvernia University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business. She worked as a manufacturing supervisor at Alcon for 25 years. Kathleen was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. where she was the President of the 50+ Club. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, and watching the birds. Most of all, she loved spending time with family.

In addition to her husband, Kathleen is survived by her children, Lynn Koller, Steven Rumberger, husband of Mandy, Andrea Rosa, wife of Luis, James Rumberger, her stepdaughter Angela Muldowney, wife of Josh, and her eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Michael P. Stankiewicz, husband of Mary Jane, and her sister Teresa M. Stankiewicz, life partner of Daniel Poulson. She was preceded in death by her stepfather Russell Christ.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 beginning at 10:00 am at St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of Kathleen's family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
