Samuel B. Kauffman

Samuel B. Kauffman, 95, formerly of Mount Penn and most currently a resident at Walnut Woods-Boyertown, passed away January 7th, 2014. He was the widower of Sara S. (Stout) Kauffman who passed away June 29, 2010. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Samuel B. and L. Edna (Wray) Kauffman. Samuel was a graduate of Mount Penn High School in 1936 and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Trinity U.C.C.-Mount Penn as well as a member of N.A.R.V.R.–National Association Retired Veteran Railroad. Samuel was a Locomotive Fireman for Reading Railroad then an engineer for 40 years, retiring in 1979. He is survived by One Son: Peter E. husband of Barbara J. Kauffman of Boyertown; One Daughter: Charlotte “Chardy” L. wife of Gerald F. Stricker of Pennside; Three Grandchildren: Kelly (Stricker) wife of Jason V. Wasielevski, Jaime (Stricker) wife of Eric S. Trupp and Geoffrey R. Quinter; Four Great-Grandchildren: Caroline, Sarah, Liam and Owen and One Sister: Anna Louise Trexler of Florida Services and Interment private at the convenience of the family.
