Shirley A. Kessler (Zeiger)

Shirley A. (Zeiger) Kessler, 90, of Pottstown, formerly of Wyomissing, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Pottstown Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Kenneth D. Kessler, of Pottstown. Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late George and Freda L. (Hoy) Zeiger. Shirley was a graduate of Minersville High School, a career secretary, a salesperson for the Hanover Shoe Store in the Berkshire Mall and the manager of the Hanover/C.J. Clark store in Fairgrounds Square, retiring in 1993.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her daughter; Carol A. Kessler, of Pottstown. She is also survived by nieces Linda Schuett, Nancy Brown, and Laurie Miller. She was predeceased by her son Edward G. Hertzig, and sister Donna Rae (Zeiger) Miller.

A loving wife, mother and friend, Shirley’s spirit shone through in the beautiful smile she gave everyone; she had a way of making you feel like you were the only one in the room. Shirley’s generosity, strength and heart of gold will live on in all who knew her.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Mt. Penn, PA 19606. Interment will be private at the Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
