Steward G. "George" Kissinger, 76, of Spring Township, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, in his home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Wentzel) Kissinger with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage on February 18. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Steward A. Kissinger and Lucia A. (Guadagno) Pavusich. George graduated from Conrad Weiser High School in 1963 and was a lifetime member of Gouglersville Fire Company. George proudly served his country in the National Guard from 1963-1969. He and his father were partners in Kissinger's Garage, Spring Township from 1970-1984, George then founded and operated Kissinger's Auto Parts, West Reading from 1984-1998. From 1998-2008 he worked at Roger's Garage, Mohnton. George started his first job there in 1960 and retired from there in 2008. George loved to spend his free time gardening, repairing small engines, and going to the casinos. His favorite places to spend vacations with his wife Beverly were in the Bahamas and Florida.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by one daughter Stephanie A. Kissinger, Mohnton, and grandson Austin A. Ellefson. Also, brother-in-law's Melvin E. Wentzel(Mindy), Williamsport, James Good, Mohnton, half brother Ronald G. Kissinger(Donna Fox) Stevens. One sister Sharon Miller(Michael) Exeter, half sister Julie Schlimme, Downingtown; nieces Sadie, Taylor, and Billette; nephews Michael, Bryan, Andrew, and Samuel. George has many cousins in Pennsylvania and Florida. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Good.
The family of George Kissinger is holding a celebration of George's life on Saturday June 5, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. It will be held at the Pavilion/Picnic area at the Gouglersville Fire Company. It is an outdoor affair so please dress casual and feel free to bring a lawn chair.
