Bernice Kleinsmith

Bernice M. Kleinsmith, 91, formerly of Exeter Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Country Meadows-Wyomissing, where she resided for over 9 years. She was the widow of J. Harvey Kleinsmith who passed away September 9, 1991. Born in Lorane, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude (Goodhart) Linderman. Bernice was a graduate of Mount Penn High School in 1943 and was a life member of St. John's U.C.C.-Gibraltar. She was a secretary in nursing administration for the Reading Hospital and Medical Center for 22 years, retiring in 1990. Bernice was an avid reader who enjoyed playing games, watching Jeopardy and the Shark Tank, dancing the polka and talking on the phone with her furry grand cat SoLee. Bernice is survived by one son, Randall B. Kleinsmith of Galloway, NJ and one daughter, Cheryl L. Kleinsmith of Exeter Township. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at St. John's U.C.C., 57 St. John's Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's U.C.C. Memorial Fund, 57 St. John's Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
