Arthur R. Kline, Sr., 90, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Berkshire Center. He was the husband of Marion R. (Shaffer) Kline. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Arthur C. and Grace I. (Wahl) Kline. Arthur was a graduate of Reading High School in 1942 and was a United States Army Air Corp. Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church where he was on the roll since 1926, was a 40 year former Sunday School Teacher. He later joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He also was the former manager and vice president of Reading National Little League and the past president of the board of trustees. Arthur was the vice president of sales for 7-Up Bottling Co. Franchises in Reading, Lancaster, Pottsville, Allentown and Bethlehem for 40 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to that he worked for the U.S. Government at the Reading Airport servicing B-24’s. In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by: One Son: Kenneth L. Kline of Reading; One Grandson: Michael L. Kline, Sr.; Two Great-Grandsons: Michael L. Kline, Jr. and Evan T. Kline and One Brother: Donald L. Kline of Exeter Township. He was pre-deceased by his son Arthur R. Kline, Jr. and his brother Rev. Kenneth L. Kline. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday May 11, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm with services beginning at 1:30 pm at Lutz Funeral Home Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave Reading PA 19606.
