Robert Korecky

Robert A. Korecky, 88, of Wyomissing, passed away, Thursday, March 15, 2018, in The Highlands at Wyomissing. He was the husband of Joan C. (Phillips) Korecky who passed away on October 3, 2011. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was a son of the late Anton and Frances (Pianofski) Korecky. Robert was a lifelong member of the Berkshire Country Club and a member of Sacred Heart R.C.C. Besides his family, his greatest accomplishment was a major pilot in the Air Force. After turning down a career as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs, he attended Marquette University where he received an electrical engineering degree. He ultimately became a national salesman for Polymer Corporation, Morton International and Rohm and Haas for their powder coating industry. Robert is survived by one son, Martin J. Korecky, husband of Lisa of The Villages, FL; and one daughter, Linda G. wife of Todd Eckenrode of Carlisle; five grandchildren, Brian, Timothy, Jennifer, Ryan, Nicole; six great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Tristan, Leelah, Austin, Gillian, and Steven; and one brother Charles Korecky husband of Janet Korecky. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday May 17, 2018, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue., Mt. Penn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 18, 2018, beginning at 10:00 am at St. John Baptist De LaSalle, 420 Holland Street, Shillington. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 E. Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
