Daniel S. “Butch” Levengood, 94, of Oley Township, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the widower of Julia A. (Janiszewski) Levengood. He is survived by his companion, Gloria Hummel of Pottsville. Born in Oley Township, he was a son of the late Warren B. and Anna (Schlegel) Levengood. Butch was a graduate of Oley High School in 1939 and was a dairy/crop farmer all of his life, semi-retiring in 1985. He was a member of Friedens U.C.C.-Oley, PA. Butch was a former Oley Township Supervisor, member and past president of the Friedens Cemetery Board, former Member and Foodermaeshder of the Berks County Fersammling, Member of Oley Daal Fersammling, former Vice President and “Mr. French Fry” at the Oley Fair for over 50 years, F&AM Huguenot Lodge #377 and the Rajah Shrine. Butch is survived by: One Son: Daniel E. Levengood husband of Diane of Oley; Two Grandchildren: Dawn L. wife of Alan Roman and Dena L. husband of Thomas Kauffman, both of Oley; Six Great-Grandchildren: Alex and Katelyn Ponce, Madeline and Kristina Kauffman, Tony and Paul Roman; Two Sisters: Pauline Lendacki of Fleetwood and Mabel Derr Yoder of Oley. He was pre-deceased by his sister: Marie Janiszewski. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 9:30-11:00 am with services following at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Friedens U.C.C. 337 Main Street Oley, Pennsylvania 19547.
