Sydne L. Long, 93, formerly of Mount Penn and Sun City-West, AZ, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 in the Golden Living Center—Exeter Township. She was the widowof Charles L. Long who passed away September 20, 1977.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Wayne L. andHelen M. (Lorah) Fischer.
Sydne was a graduate of the former Mt. Penn High School in 1938 and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church-Reading. She was the executive secretary at the Berks Vo-Tech now Berks Career and Technology Center in Oley, Pa for 18 years, retiring in 1984.
Sydne is survived by: Two Daughters: Linda Anne wife of Jack M. Lacey of Reading and Suzanne L. wife of Albert Horner of Sun City-West, AZ; Four Grandchildren: David M. Lacey husband of Kendra, Elizabeth A. wife of David Pawlik, Michael T. Robinson and Mark S. Lacey husband of Patricia; Nine Great-Grandchildren: Joshua, Taylor, Michael, Seth, Nicole, Matthew, Erin, Chase and Michael and One Brother: Kenneth L. Fischer husband of Sandra of Reading. She was pre-deceased by a son Marshall K. “Bud” Long and a brother Rodman W. Fischer.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Christ Episcopal Church 435 Court Street Reading, PA 19601. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Church Memorial Fund at the above stated address. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Penn in charge of arrangements.
