Brian D. Lutz, 73, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2016. He was the fiance of Maria Wermelin of Saltsjobaden, Sweden. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late J. William and Laurabell K. (Wentzel) Lutz. Brian was a graduate of Mount Penn High School in 1961 and Penn State University with a BS in Biology. Brian was in furniture sales for Knoll in New York, NY; Artek in Helsinki, Finland; Lammhults in Sweden; among others. In later life, he authored two books on Knoll and Eero Saarinen. He was an avid traveler, reader, and lover of dogs, cars, music, and design. His light, humor and love were felt by everyone who met him. In addition to his fiance, Brian is survived by two daughters, Delia V.A. Lutz of Lower Alsace Township, and Annika I.A. Lutz, wife of Adam M. Cubbler, of Philadelphia; one sister, Nancy J., wife of William Stanton, and their daughter, Miranda, of Lobachsville; Maria's children, Karolina, Erik and Johanna; and his beloved dog Ari. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19606.
