Joyce M Mccloughan (Johnston)

Joyce M. (Johnston) McCloughan, 84, formerly of Exeter, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, due to Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late J. Wilmer and Mary (Bensinger) Johnston. Joyce graduated from Reading High School. She was the office manager for many years for the plastic surgeons Proserpi, Moser, Smith, and LaManna. Joyce retired from the practice of Raymond L. Smith, MD, PC as the office manager. After retirement Joyce missed her career so she returned, on a part-time basis, to the practice of LaManna & Dooley. Joyce taught Sunday School at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reading when her children were younger and was actively involved there as a member. After retirement, Joyce became a member of Reformation Lutheran Church, where she volunteered as well. Joyce also enjoyed attending her granddaughters’ sporting events throughout the years.

Joyce is survived by her children, Richard Chirieleison (Barbara) and Holly Balatgek, wife of Mark. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Kaila Balatgek, partner of Damein Lobach, and Katrina Balatgek Thompson, wife of Christopher, as well as her sister, Audrey Poole, and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank Grane Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Joyce over the past two years.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 beginning at 11:30 am in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
