Elizabeth "Betty" (Costabile) Mesisca, 89, of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in Berkshire Commons. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Mesisca. Nicholas and Elizabeth were married in 1953, and spent 62 years of marriage together before his passing in 2016. Born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Rose (Negro) Costabile. Elizabeth was a graduate of Hazelton High School class of 1951, where she and her late husband Nicholas were high school sweethearts.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Roman Catholic Church in Exeter Township, where she was always very active in a variety of church functions and maintained an active role in St. Catherine School as well for many years.
Elizabeth is survived by her children; Debbie Saylor of Exeter, Marybeth, wife of Brian Werner of Exeter, Karen Graham of Wilmington DE, and Nicholas, husband of Sharon of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (B-Bop) Heebner, Melissa (Mike) Webster, Jamie Saylor, Jason Werner, Rory Graham, Tabitha (Andy) Ringer, Alyson Mesisca, Rachel Meyer, Kelsey Graham, Nicholas (Jess) Mesisca, Tyler (Chelsea) Mesisca, Brianne (Nicholas) Phillips, and Ainsley Graham; as well as 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm in Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Following visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm in St. Catharine of Siena Chapel, 2425 Perkiomen Ave, Mt. Penn, Pennsylvania 19606. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Catharine's Church Memorial Fund, 2425 Perkiomen Ave, Mt.
