Nicholas J. Mesisca

Nicholas J. Mesisca, age 81, of Exeter Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife and family at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Costabile) Mesisca with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage. Born in Hazleton, PA, he was a son of the late Nicholas J., Sr. and Carmella (Tedesco) Mesisca and moved to Reading in 1960. He was employed by Western Electric/AT&T and retired as a department chief in 1989. His early retirement gave him time to travel and spend hours in his at-home work shop, creating and building. However, his favorite pastime was being with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by his daughters, Debbie Saylor and Marybeth wife of Brian Werner both of Exeter Township, Karen Graham of Wilmington, DE and his son, Nicholas husband of Sharon of Harmony, PA; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Phillip of Stratford, NJ and multiple nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by seven brothers and sisters. The family will sorely miss the best husband, father and pop-pop ever. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606 with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 12:30 p.m. in St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Interment private in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
