Barbara Nissley

Barbara A. (Zawaski) Nissley, 79, formerly of Mount Penn, died peacefully in her sleep Friday March 4, 2016, at home. She was the wife of Charles A. Nissley, who died January 25, 2011. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Custer and Mildred (McCann) Zawaski. Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served at church as Relief Society President and as a temple worker at the Washington, D.C., Temple. She also completed an eighteen month mission with her husband in 1986-1987 in the Philippines.

Barbara is survived by two sons: Charles A., Jr., husband of Evelyn, Calif., and Jeffrey D., Sinking Spring; two daughters: Diane S., wife of Michael Strauss, Utah, and Jeanette C., wife of Keith Juryea, Birdsboro; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda J., wife of Brett Sands, Fla.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, March 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3344 Reading Crest Ave, Reading. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m., and interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
