Ruby Lee Ogden, 95, of Pennside, passed away Tuesday, December 2, at StoneRidge Poplar Run Retirement Community, where she resided since 2005.
She was the wife of the late Walter E. Ogden, who passed away January 23, 1988. She was born on July 1, 1919 in Winfield, Alabama, the youngest of nine children of the late Joseph Liester and Sarah (Smith) Spann.
Prior to her marriage, Ruby was employed by the Jefferson County Health Department located in Birmingham, Alabama. After her marriage, Ruby devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid and talented bridge player.
Ruby was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Reading, where she served on numerous committees and taught Sunday school.
Surviving is her son, Edwin Ogden and his wife, Barbara J. (Grumbach) Ogden, and two grandchildren Sarah E. Ogden and Cody E. Ogden, all of Exeter Township; and several extended family members residing in Winfield and Guin, Alabama.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19606 is in charge of arrangements.
