Minnie M. O’Grattis, 93, formerly of Mt. Penn, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Berkshire Center. She was the widow of Raymond J. O’Grattis who passed away September 13, 2006.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Parzanese) Moretto.
Minnie was a graduate of Reading High School in 1939 and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.-Mount Penn. She was also a Girl Scout leader for the Great Valley Girl Scout Council. She was known to everyone as Aunt Minnie or Mrs. O G. She and Ray opened their home to family and friends where she would serve up her famous spaghetti and meatball dinners.
Minnie is survived by: Two Daughters: Raylene (O’Grattis) Grynkewich of St. Simons Island, GA and Marlene (O’Grattis) Rutila of Selbyville, DE; Four Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren; One Brother: Alex Moretto and One Sister: Lillian (Moretto) Bonetti both of Reading
Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 AM-11:00 A.M. with services beginning at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2015 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mt. Penn. Interment will be Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township, PA.
