Roger R Owens

Roger R. Owens, 90, of Wyomissing, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, in Country Meadows. He was the husband of the late Marilyn J. (Hoffert) Owens. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Delmar S. and Angeline K. (Schell) Owens. Roger graduated from Reading High School class of 1951 and was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, West Lawn. He proudly served his country in The United States Army during the Korean War. Roger worked in sales at Big A Auto Parts in Reading for 24 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, sitting on the front porch and vacationing yearly at Stone Harbor, NJ.

Roger is survived by his children; Larry D. Owens, husband of Tere, and Debra L. Peterson, wife of Scott. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Chelsea Owens, Bailey Tomalis, Serena Javens, wife of Nicholas, Michelle Ebersole, and Stacy Owens, as well as five great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Roger was predeceased by his son Roger D. Owens.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606.
