Thomas F. Rathman

Thomas F. Rathman, 88, of Reiffton, passed away Thursday January 11, 2018, in his home. He was the husband of Phyllis J. (Hornberger) Rathman. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Jacob and Flora (Schorn) Rathman. Thomas was a foreman for Firestone/Occidental Chemical for 34 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. in Exeter Township and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Thomas also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his children: Susan L. wife of Peter Salaneck of Douglassville, Robin J. Rathman wife of John Ward of Tucson, AZ, Gregory S. Rathman husband of Annette of Exeter Township, Thomas F. Rathman of Exeter Township and Corinne A. wife of Robert Majowicz of Ruscombmanor Township. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Tania, Peter, Andrew, Kira, Ethan, Sarah, Justin, Abby, Rebecca, Sydney and Bryce; five great-grandchildren, Edison, Sebastien, Emilee, Oliver and Elliott; one brother, John Rathman of Reading; and three sisters, Carol Stabinsky of Maine, Gail Wentzel of Lancaster and Mary Schmeck of Green Hills. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Gerry. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, from 10:00 am 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township.
