Rita E. DiCerchio

Rita E. DiCerchio, 83, of West Reading, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Reading Hospital Medical Center while being comforted by her loved ones. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Giovina (DeCarlo) DiCerchio. Rita worked as a candy packer for Palmer Candy for many years. Rita was a member of Holy Rosary R.C.C. and a member of the Victor Emmanuel II Ladies Auxiliary. Her favorite pastime was shopping on QVC and sharing her purchases with family and friends.

Rita is survived by her brother Anthony DiCerchio, husband of Susan, her sister Annette Hunsberger, widow of Richard, her sister-in-law Sheila DiCerchio, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers John (Traude) and Joseph DiCerchio, and her sister Elizabeth DiCerchio. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 beginning at 10:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church, 237 Franklin Street Reading, PA 19602.
