Jack R. Roland died peacefully at his cottage at Stoneridge Poplar Run in Myerstown, Pa. on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Born October 22, 1928 to Earl, Sr. and Sadie Roland, Jack was predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Gloria E. Roland, on April 5, 2013. An Air Force veteran, Jack worked as a Lineman and then as Business Manager for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 126 for many years.
Throughout his life and in retirement, Jack enjoyed playing golf at Reading Country Club, where he had many friends. Jack was also predeceased by his brothers Earl, Jr., Robert and Bruce Roland and by his sister, Grace Meade. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Jack’s caregivers: Becky, Rachel, Tenille & Natasha for the wonderful care they provided to Jack in his final days and to Berks Visiting Nurse Association for their support. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stoneridge Poplar Run Theater on Main, 440 E. Lincoln Ave. Myerstown, PA 17067.
