Ruth (Ruff) A. Gross, 67, of Robeson Township, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in her residence. She was the wife of Bruce T. Gross, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage. Born in Geigertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Ruth M. (Brady) Zerr. Ruth was a 1975 graduate of Twin Valley High School, where she graduated with honors, and was MVP of the softball team, having a batting average of over 500, and hitting 30 homeruns. She went on to earn an Associate's degree in Business Administration from Penn State University. In 1980 her softball team, Twin Slope, of Morgantown, won the PA State Class B Championship. She was a Contract Administrator for Berkshire Systems Group Inc., Shillington, until her retirement in 2022. Ruth was a member of Berks County and Central Penn Golf Associations. During her membership at Reading Country Club she won 7 club championships. In addition, she was a member of Hay Creek Valley Historical Association, Brookside Country Club, where she regularly golfed with her husband, Treasurer of Geigertown Grange #2061, and Birdsboro #626 American Legion Auxiliary. She also enjoyed working in her garden and loved spending quality time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her daughter Megan K. Block, her grandchildren Ava K. and Connor G., and her lap dog, Windsor. She is also survived by her siblings Mark E. Zerr, Sandra M., wife of J.Vincent Smale, Bertha J., wife of Scott Stoltzfus, Martha L. Zerr, Daniel L, Zerr, husband of Sherry, Paul A. Zerr, John C. Zerr Jr., and David R. Zerr, husband of Sharon.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of Ruth's family. In memory of Ruth, we ask that you share a memory of her while enjoying your favorite dessert with a loved one.
