Ruth E. Shears

Ruth E. (Clouser) Shears, 64, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Douglas W. Shears, with whom she celebrated 25 years of marriage as of April 1, 2024. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of Nelson and Mary Jane (Kline) Clouser. She graduated from Twin Valley High School in 1977, and went on to attend Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. Ruth worked in the food industry her whole life, she was the owner and operator of Hot Mess Express LLC Food Truck for many years. Ruth and her staff catered the Maidencreek Fish & Game for many years. She worked many years at Vanlear Equipment as a bus driver and supervisor and she also worked at Sam's Club for 19 years as a team leader. She loved resting on the beach, and going out to dinner with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter Jennifer Hack, of Blandon, her grandchildren Ethan, Collin, and Aubrey, as well as her brother Aaron Clouser, and sisters Linda Ingram and Faith Clouser.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606.
