Sallie Fisher

Sallie K. (Smith) Fisher, 78, of Mt. Penn, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Berks Heim Nursing & Rehabilitation. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Sallie K. (Lutz) Smith. Sallie graduated from Oley Valley High School and began her career at Community General Hospital, later working for St. Michaels Convent, Genesis HealthCare and the Surgical Institute of Reading from where she retired in 2014 as their Dietary Manager. In her spare time, Sallie enjoyed spending time with those she loved, working in her garden, traveling and cooking. She warmed the hearts of many with her infectious smile, enduring love, kindness, and compassion for others. She will be missed by all who knew her, but will live in our hearts forever.

Sallie is survived by her children; David J.P. Smith, of Temple, Tracey L. Wentzel (Robert Bartoli), of St. Lawrence, and Daniel L. Fisher (Rachel), of Mohrsville. She is also survived by her companion, Dean Strunk, of Gouglersville, as well as her grandchildren; Joshua and Jacob Smith, Jessica Mogel (Cody), and Hannah Fisher, her siblings; Betty-Jane Ustaszewski (Joseph), Paul Smith (Carole), Nancy Walbert, widow of the late Ray Walbert, and John Smith (Wendi), her nieces and nephews; Kathy, Lisa, Amanda, Emily, John, Anthony, and many great-nieces and nephews. Sallie was preceded in death by her siblings; Mildred Mae, Ruth Anne, and Robert J.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with services beginning at 7:00 PM at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606.
