Charles Neil Shurr Sr., 91, of Exeter Township, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was pre deceased by his first wife Nancy R. (Grater) Buck and his second wife Clara E. (Forehand) Shurr. Born in Exeter Township, he was the son of the late Leon and Sarah (Boone) Shurr. Neil was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School in 1947, and received his associates degree from Wyomissing Polytech. He was a proud member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Neil was a machinist and tool maker at Textile Machines for 15 years, Hub Tool Manufacturing for 15 years, and later worked at AT&T for 12 years until retiring in 1994. He was also a member of NorthStar United Methodist Church.
Neil is survived by one son Charles Neil Jr. husband of Mary of Kutztown, daughters Rev. Wendy S. Orzolek wife of Robert J. of Exeter Township and Beth A. Shurr, partner of Robert G. Porch of Exeter Township. He is survived by three grandchildren: Justin Shurr, Trevor Shurr, Samuel Orzolek, and two brothers Larry L. husband of Pauline, and Garry L. He was also survived by six step children. Neil was pre deceased by his daughter Sandra M., brother Martin Delbert and sisters Gladys V. Knabb and Shirley M. Gehring.
