William P. "Bill" Smith, 72, of Reading, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, in his home. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late William and Clarette (Lundeby) Smith. He was the husband of Leah Formiconi-Smith, with whom he celebrated 14 years of marriage. Bill was the owner/operator of 1st Security Electrical Contracting in Naperville, IL for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing gin, golfing, pickleball and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his son Brian Smith, husband of Kate, California, and his daughter Cherie Franks, wife of Rob, Idaho. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Wally, June, and Wesley, as well as his step-daughter Niki Rademaekers, wife of JJ, and his step-grandchildren Lili and LouLou, of Colorado. Bill was one of six siblings.
