Virginia L. (Moyer) Snyder
Virginia “Ginny” Snyder, 68, of Lower Alsace passed away on March 3rd, 2016 at Reading Hospital surrounded by her family after a courageous five year battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Snyder for 48 years, and the only daughter of the late Ralph S. and Iva J. (Daub) Moyer of Fredericksburg, Pa.
Ginny was a 1965 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School, and of the McCann School of Business.
She was employed by St. Josephs Hospital for over 30 years, where she worked as a medical secretary in the radiation therapy department and is most fondly remembered for her wonderful patient parties and the loving compassion she showed for cancer patients. Ginny was a member of the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church of Stony Creek Mills, where she actively participated on the fellowship committee and helped plan “Basket Bingo” events, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Lower Alsace Fire Company. Ginny loved scrapbooking, quilting, game nights with friends, participating in Relay for Life events, and spending time with her children and grandchildren – who will miss her dearly.
Ginny is survived by her two children, Nancy (Snyder) Salvatore, wife of Vincent and Lieutenant Colonel James Snyder, husband of Simone; and four grandchildren, Victoria and Giovanni Salvatore and Mackenzie and Christopher Snyder.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1375 Friedensburg Rd. Reading, PA 19606; American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave, Reading, PA 19605; Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd. Birdsboro, PA 19508, or charity of your choosing. The family would like to say a special thank you to the care providers who have done so much over the last five years.
