Donald Earl Spangler, 91, of Exeter Township, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the widower of Louella E. (Arnold) Spangler who passed away October 7, 2013. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Elwood V. and Susan E. (Drexel) Spangler. Donald was a veteran of the United States Army. He was active at St. John’s U.C.C.-Reading, serving as a Deacon and Elder, St. Andrews U.C.C.-Reading as an Elder and St. John’s U.C.C.-Gibraltar as an Elder. He was a member of both the Birdsboro and Shillington Independent Order of Odd Fellows serving as Past Grand. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word searches, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, pinochle and canasta. Donald was employed by Moyer’s Print Shop for 20 years, Standard Offset for 5 years, and the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 26 years and lastly for Weis Markets for 18 years, retiring at the age of 83. He is survived by: Two Daughters: Lugene “Genie” F. wife of Robert A. Barlow, Sr. of Sinking Spring and Lesley H. wife of Joseph A. Bruce, Sr. of Shillington; Four Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by three brothers. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:30-11:00 A.M. with Memorial Services beginning at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mt.
