Edward H. Specht

Edward H. Specht, 92, of Oley Township, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Alice L. (Christian) Specht, currently living at Berkshire Commons, Exeter Township. Born in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Amandus and Lillie (Hildenbrandt) Specht. Ed graduated from Pennsburg High School in 1950. He proudly served his country in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Army Reserves after serving 28 years, 7 years with 904th Artillery, 21 years with 365th Engineers, retiring as a SFC. Ed was a member of Schwarzwald Lutheran Church where he volunteered for Schwarzwald Lutheran Retirees Group, and for the Home Care Group at Lutheran Home. Ed worked at Penske for 17 years, retiring in 1992.

In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his children; Edward M. Specht, Joseph A., husband of Cheryl (Warden) Specht, and Nancy N., wife of Robert Hasseler. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, beginning at 11:00 am in Schwarzwald Lutheran Church 250 Church Lane Rd Reading, PA 19606.
