Marcia D Spiess (Wilder)

Marcia D (Wilder) Spiess, 84, of Reading, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Spiess. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Lucille (Blandon) Wilder. She was a proud graduate of The University Of Kentucky where she achieved her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. She was employed by Sovereign Bank until her retirement. She was a member of Pennside Presbyterian Church and served on Mt. Penn Borough council for many years. Marcia was an avid reader and loved all things Kentucky: football, basketball, and her beloved Kentucky Derby. She was a true southern belle and could wear a strand of pearls like no other.

Marcia is survived by daughters Deborah Miller, wife of Kerry, Carol Culp wife of Harry, Marianne Dougherty wife of John, and son George Spiess husband of Cristal. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Marcia was predeceased by her beloved son Russell Davis and her cherished brother Richard Wilder.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with services beginning at 10:00 am in Pennside Presbyterian Church 253 N. 25th St. Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pennside Presbyterian at the above address.
