Charles R. Spohn, 83, of Mount Penn, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the widower of Grace A. (Metz) Spohn. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles J. and Margaret (Kraft) Spohn. Charles was a member of St. John's U.C.C.-Reading, and was a member and pilot for Civil Air Patrol at the Reading Municipal Airport. He was also an avid sailor and a member of Hances Point Yacht Club. He was a machinist/welder and foreman for Rockwell International until his retirement. Charles is survived by two sons, William R. husband of Susanne and Robert C. husband of Nancy; step-daughters, Laura Vanaken, Amy Triano and Kathy Yankowski; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard and Carl and three sisters, Marie, Margaret and Clair. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mount Penn.
