Bruce R. Stech

Bruce R. Stech, 87, of Spring Township, passed away Sunday, February 24th, 2013 in his residence. He was the widower of Mildred A. (Cronan) Stech who passed away December 24, 2011. Born in Muhlenberg Township, he was a son of the late Walter and Ida (Wanner) Stech. Bruce graduated from Reading High School in 1943. He also graduated from Albright College with a B.S. in Education as well as Temple University with a Masters Degree in Education. He served as a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II and enjoyed gardening and handball. Bruce was a math teacher for the Boyertown Area School District and after retiring worked for Meridian Bank. He is survived by: One Son: Scott A. Stech husband of Jodi of Exeter Twp.; One Daughter: Linda L. Umstead widow of James of Shillington; Four Grandchildren: Dina L. Jones, Lauren Platanos, Kyle Stech and Taylor Stech; Two Great-Granddaughter’s: Mackenzie B. and Madison L. Jones; and One Brother: Glen Stech of Wyomissing. Bruce was pre-deceased by One Sister: Josie Braem. Services from the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc.2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mt. Penn on Thursday, February 28th at 10:00 am.
