Sally (Thompson) Steinhauer, 85, of Baltimore, passed away on Friday, May 21st, 2021, at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Birdsboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late George Thompson and Ella (Wolford) Thompson. She was a graduate of Amity High School and attended Reading Business Institute. Sally was devoted to her family, loved to read, and was an avid gardener. She traveled the world as a military wife but always loved coming home to Amity Oak Farm in Birdsboro. She worked as a secretary for Polymer and AT&T. Sally moved to Orange, VA and lived with her sister, Joella, for 15 years. She was an active volunteer at Trinity UMC and in the community.
Sally is survived by her daughter Kriste Garman, wife of Chuck, Baltimore, MD; her sons Todd Steinhauer husband of Cheryl, TX, Gregg Steinhauer, OH, and Wayne Steinhauer, husband of Julie, NC; her sister Joella Bradshaw, Orange, VA; her brother George W. Thompson Jr, husband of Barbara; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Bob Thompson and wife Betty, Fred Thompson and wife Marge; her sister Janet Williams and husband Dave; brother in law John Bradshaw, and one grandchild.
Services will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 beginning at 11:00 am in St Paul's UCC, 1979 Weavertown Road, Douglassville, PA 19518. Interment will be at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Arts Center in Orange, 129 E Main St, Orange, VA 22960; Trinity United Methodist Church, 143 W Main St, Orange, VA 22960; or St. Paul's UCC.
