Elizabeth A. "Betsy" (Fisher) Stiefel, 59, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 in the Reading Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Brian R. Stiefel. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Fisher and Louise (Hoff) Fisher of Spring Ridge. Betsy was a 1976 graduate of Wilson High School and a graduate of Shippensburg University. She was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church. Betsy was a longtime employee of VCA Sinking Spring Animal Hospital, and was also involved with numerous dog rescue organizations. In addition to her husband, Betsy is survived by one daughter, Janelle L. wife of Richard DePalma, North Wales; and two sons, Scott B., Philadelphia; and Robert C., fiancé of Alyssa Diminick, Philadelphia. She is also survived by one brother Frederick A. husband of Mary and one sister JoAnne Labe wife of Jeffrey.
Betsy loved her canine companions and spending her summers on the beach in Avalon, NJ with her family. Betsy's ever-present, radiant smile, kind disposition and easygoing personality were a source of inspiration to all those who were lucky enough to have known her, and a comfort to the many friends and family who visited in her final hours. The Stiefel family would like to thank the medical staff of the N3 South floor at the Reading Hospital for their exceptionally compassionate care of Betsy.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:30am, with services beginning at 11:30am in the West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Avenue, Reading, PA 19609. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zoe's House, Inc., P.O.
